M1 - END USERS AND TECHNICAL REQUIREMENT DEFINED

This milestone is made up by the WP1. Its objective is using as basis the knowledge of the partners in elderly needs, verified the needs and requirements of the elderly persons in managing “white goods” as well as verified the possible support that the “white goods” could offer to the elderly people in order to achieve a longer and better independent life. With the identified needs the other objective of WP1 is to identify the necessary technological developments in RFID, Neuronal Networks and HMI mainly, for providing the new functionalities to the “white goods” system.

M2 - TECHNOLOGICAL DEVELOPMENTS IN RFID, HMI AND NEURONAL NETWORKS FINISHED, AND TESTED THEIR FUNCTIONALITY AND ACCESIBILITY.

This M2 is made up by three WPs. WP2, WP3 and WP4 where the technological developments in RFID, Neuronal Networks and HMI will be performed. The WP5 also will be part of the M2 as support in the design and accessibility test of the developments carried out in the previous WPs.

∙ WP2, will be addressed to achieve new RFID Applications in the “white goods” selected in the project.

∙ WP3 will develop the “e-servant” system that provides the intelligence to the “White Goods”, in order to support the elderly persons in their daily activities facilitating the programming of the “white goods without/or with user cooperation and adapting the systems to the disabilities of the elderly persons, through a learning system that detects the lost of abilities of the user and try to compensate them. The technology to achieve the “e-servant” system will be developments in Neuronal Networks, that have as input the information from sensors in the kitchen.

∙ WP4 will be in charge of the development of suitable Human Machine Interfaces for elderly persons with different physical and cognitive disabilities.

∙ WP5 will support the WP2, WP3 and WP4 in assuring that the design will answer the requirements of Accessibility. Furthermore will facilitate the test of accessibility of the WP’s results in the specific laboratories that they have for Accessibly evaluation

M3 - The advanced white goods validated at laboratory level: e-servant interacting with the dedicated household appliances and interfaces.

The M3 is made up by two WPs, the WP6 where all the results from WP2, WP3 and WP4 will be integrated for obtaining the system of advanced “white goods”: e-servant interacting with the dedicated household appliances and interfaces. WP5 will support WP6 in such a way that the design answers the requirements of accessibility.

M4 - Prototypes near to market of advanced white goods validated in real scenarios with real end users

Once the system of Advanced “white Goods”, have been validated at laboratory level, the next step will be the real validation in real scenarios with real end users. These tasks will be performed in the WP7 and will ensure that the usability of the functions in real life situations is fully considered. The scenarios will be implemented in two apartments of Valdespartera (a neighbourhood of Zaragoza. In this scenarios will be important the contribution of the Elderly Associations (ATADES, ONCE and Fundación Rey Ardid) which whom UNIZAR works tightly. Two other scenarios will be carried out by C-LAB, thanks to its cooperation with Elderly Associations in Germany.

M5 - Exploitation plan at large scale defined

At the end of this project it will be obtained an exploitation plan at large scale of the exploitable project results. The exploitation plan will be defined in the WP8. The main exploitable results will be the system of advanced “White Goods”, but there are also other partial project results like: RFID applications, e-servant system, HMI, that could be exploited in other applications and that they will be analysed by the corresponding partners.
